Day after bumblefoot surgery: does this look okay?

She had Epsom salt soaks and PRID for four days, and then the infection seemed to come out pretty easily (about the size of a chickpea). I couldn't find any more. There was just a hole. I used peroxide, Vetericyn, and triple antibiotic before bandaging. That was yesterday.

Today, I took a picture right after I sprayed with peroxide. You can see it bubbling in the pic. The wound seems to be the same size as it was before I took out the infection. Is this normal? I repeated Vetericyn and triple antibiotic before rebandaging.

Do you think I failed to get all of the infection? Or is it likely to shrink back to normal soon?

Thanks,
Rob

After doing surgery that trauma can cause swelling. So just keep up with what your doing but don't use the peroxide any longer it can damage healthy skin. After 2-3 days check again sometimes there is some infection left and we have to work it out again. Sounds like you got it all. .

That makes me feel better. I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you!

It does look like it's healing I'm sure it is probably still sore so just keep up with what your doing and check again in a few days. Hopefully, all infection is out and the soreness will go away as it continues to heal.

It seems a little more swollen today. I'm not sure if it's healing or getting worse at this point. I spray with Vetericyn, cover with triple antibiotic, and wrap every day right now. Should I be doing anything else?

Ten days later now. I'll post two pics of the scab progression over the past three days. It's still swollen and it appears the scab is starting to come off. Does this look right for ten days after? I'm concerned about the swelling. She is walking almost totally normal (maybe only affected by the bandage) and she acts just fine.

Scab 2 pic is from a few days ago. Scab 3 pic is today.
