Day of Silence!

Ok is there anyone else on here that knows what this is and participates in it?

My school has it every year and every year i participate in it. I am just curious if anyone elses school does it. How do you feel about it? Do you participate?

I do the day of silence to stand up for myself and other people who dont always get treated the right way. I have many friends that are either gay or bi and they are all amazing people. I also do it because i personally have been one of the people that just sits there and takes criticism and rude names because im somewhat larger than other girls and it really hurts to be made fun of

our school doesn't

we did do it when i was in school...as long as we are talking about the statistical deaths related to drunk driving...

we have thought about it here but due to numbers it doesn't really work out on the small scale

We do it at my college and no, it is nothing related to drunk driving. OP- Did you not want us to say what it is? LOL, I'm confused (as usual). Anyway, I had never heard of it until I went back to school a couple years ago. The couple years I have been here though, I have noticed that our campus really goes rather all out for it (no pun intended, LOL).

Well I think its a good thing as any kind of name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools(and every where else) is wrong.....

We do it at Stanford university every year. Being different is hard, no matter what that difference is. Just about anything that reduces bullying and harassment is a good thing in my book, particularly because it's a voluntary thing.
