Day off Training?

This question may be a dumb one, but I feel the need to ask...

I've been working with my budgies every day. Am I supposed to give them a day off? Would it be good for them, or would it impede their training?

By 'training', I don't mean tricks. I've simply been running through finger-perch excercises and gradually leading them to and from the cage, with some free-roaming time in a bird-proof room.

One bird is fine with all of it but the other is cranky- meaning that he sometimes bites or screeches. He is fine in the cage and he is fine out of the cage. He is not overly fond of being handled.

Would a break from me working with him be good for my cranky budgie, or would it hinder the progress?

When training hookbills it's important to train each day. Equally important is to limit training so the bird doesn't become overly stressed.
However, training birds can get frustrating and you might need a day off. If so, take a day for yourself. If you get frustrated and stress out the birds will pick up on it; at that point training can be fruitless.

Training two is more difficult than just one. With two in a cage the budgies bond with each other. One in a cage is easier to work with and more likely to bond with the owner.
