The chick is a day old and is healthy. It is alone because the other chick needs to stay in the incubator for a couple more hours. I placed the chick under the brooder for the night but it wont stop chirping very loudly. What should I do?

Give it something to snuggle under, like a few layers of towel. Something to imitate a mama until it isn't alone.

That constant cheeping can mean he is either lonely, cold, or hurting. Since he is obviously not in pain, I would say he just wants his buddy. Unless he is really cold, I usually wouldn't put a towel in the brooder, you could, but I wouldn't say its entirely necessary. I have heard that some people put mirrors in their brooders to give their chicks company when they are alone. You could try that.

A mirror is an interesting thought and definitely worth trying. A towel is what I use for the cry babies who want held no matter how many siblings they have.
