Hello all! I got baby silkies today and I noticed one of them hurt her foot somehow. It was bleeding so we stopped the bleeding and sprayed it with the purple/blue spray. When we put her back with the others they started pecking at her hurt foot immediately. We put her in a separate space from the others and she’s just been crying for 30 minutes. Did I do the right thing? She has food and water and she’s still under the heater. Will she be okay overnight?

Maybe a divider in the brooder? She will need separate food, water and heat but it should calm her down a bit until her foot heals.

I have a heat lamp. She couldn’t see the others but now I have this kind of set up. She seems happier but is pacing a lot wanting to get to them.

BluKote can sometimes work to disguise wounds, but sometimes it may call attention to wounds. What kind of light do you have in your brooder. Are you using a heat lamp or heat plate?
A heat lamp.
