Looking good! Are you able to keep that humidity stable with just water in the bottom? My incubator is a Little Giant and very similar to yours, but water in the bottom only got me up to like 30. I think we live in similar climates, so either your incubator allows for more water in the bottom, or you have a sponge or some such hidden where we can't see?

I'm jealous of all the varieties you have starting at once!

WE put it in the "L" tray in the bottom. Had to suck a little out with the blue tube you see covered with the red plug when it went over 60.

Well My first set up wasn't anything as "advanced" as yours. I had the cheap thermometer, didn't keep enough water in the incubator tray and I had 36 out of 42 hatch.....and 4 of the ones that didn't hatch were because they had cracks from the beginning.

So relax and let it flow and you will end up with chickens everywhere,

Have fun from another AZ person

I hope you are correct Tofu.

Wife will have a cow if I have that many chicks hatch! Then she KNOWS I'll be building pens!

Well Day 4 begins in about 4 hours and everything still looks good.

Temp 99.5
Humid. 53... I'm hoping I can get it down to about 49 even though I heard that 55 was optimal and then there is Jared who runs his at 83% the entire hatch!!

We'll candle on the 9th.

I'm hoping for fewer scrambled eggs this time.

Should be interesting.

I showed one of my friends at work pics of the bator with eggs and he could only just laugh and say, "You'd better hope they all don't hatch"... and he is right, I'd be in trouble.

Working on rehoming some hens at present.

Hey Mahonri, how much noise does your Hova-Bator make? Did you get one that sounds like a dental drill, or am I still the only one that lucky?

You know, for me, when I'm in the family room, I can barely hear it.

Of course, I've been listening to dental drills for 20 years and my wife wonders why I have to have the TV so loud so I suppose I'm half deaf. Probably should start learning ASL as it may come in handy someday.
