Hi Amber. I know you want to see this. I went out this am and the pip is now a chick. Here is the new sweet little lavender plash bantam ee X blue splash silkie. I am posting a pic of the mom and dad too so you will see why i was so interested in hatching a few when i saw the bullseye on the egg
I have 3 of these total that i am hatching, so i hope to get a girl. You should hold the egg to your ear and listen. I could hear them working in there, sometimes you can hear them peep and you can feel it if they move when you are holding it. I just dont move it from the the spot....I lean over to the egg so i dont drop it or something. I read of someone doing that and i dont take any chances. I guess its time to go out and see how things are going out there
Hey Wendy,
Do you think they will be lonely with just the 2 of them? TS will have their chicks in on sun, and im wondering if I should put these 2 in with the ones I get from there or not? Im use to teenagers and full grown chickens, is it too risky to put these with the TS chicks?
I would put them together if it were me. I would not think it was the same as far as quarantine (sp) would go because they are all newly hatched babies. Maybe some more experienced poultry experts can better advise, but i would go ahead and do it. None of them had been exposed to a flock or even a momma bird. I can hear another of my eggs chirping now too. Do you know what you want to pick at TS? Are you sure you dont have to pre-prder them?
They are having their chick days starting the 13th, and will have chicks every week for 4 weeks, I dont know what im gonna get yet cause they couldnt tell me what they were getting, I really want to get some sillkies and some ees, mabye a couple BR, lol I guess I will know better when I see what comes in.
I am so impatient, I just want my babies
No sounds yet from mine but they are still moving a little. Then again im deaf in one ear and caint hear out of the other.....
I bet you cannot wait to go to TS. I wish I could go with you but its too far. I think all those are good choices. I so love my buff orpingtons. If that is an option they are very sweet, friendly bird. I think of all me big birds they are my favorite. Can't wait to see what you choose.check your pm
