daytime owl attack

There was a time in this country when no owl who seriously cared about its well being would let ANY human approach closer than a 100 yards of the owl's perch. Obvious owls now view us as just providers of free range FREE chicken burgers.

I don't mean to take the spotlight.. Pix taken 6ft under an owl feasting on rats inches from my big bird house.
On an on basketball post about 9ish in the evening.
I have about 15 feral like chickens sleeping in a tree. This Owl has an appetite for rats. There are plenty to be found out here in the sticks. Jumbo suckers.
Hawks are a prob with Chix here..

wow! Awesome pictures!! We have tons of hawks, I live in a town called Hawkinsville! but they don't bother the chickens here! Weird!

That is crazy.... I know my chickens love to come out by the way they stampede through when I open the coop. But Owls attacking in the daylight with your child right there.... that is nuts. Where do you live if I may ask? That is very strange.... also what happened to your original three hens that you now only have one.... that is a mystery and was probably not the owl.
