Pine cocked his head. Kaido was so friendly...but what had happened to Zelda? Pine didn't look it, but he had a smart mind. He remembered Zelda never eating...her once shiny, sleek black fur rough and ragged, her ribs sticking out. It didn't take long for him to figure out that Zelda had most likely died to save them.

Oak looked up sleepily. He was still so tired...
