Let her research factory condionents, and compare that to how your chickens lived and died. I hunt but these year I had trouble with it, It naged at my mind that I watched these Guys the rest of the year and I had petted and been licked by them (at the Zoo) If your daughter wants to PM me to talk she can.

I'm think about telling her that we rehomed them but butcher and put them in the freezer before she gets home. But that makes me a liar.

Don't do it! When I was 9 my parents told me my 4 chickens escaped and ran away.
12 years later I found out the truth - they'd ended up in our freezer.........I was really upset!
I also found out that day that my cat had been run over by a drunk (not run away) and the dog had been re-homed (not run away)
OK looking back on it - we had a LOT of run away animals!​
