DE and liquid wormer?? HELP!

I have pretty severe asthma and allergies too. Do NOT use on a windy day, use a dust mask if concerned, and common sense. I use a serving spoon and throw it away from me...

Does any1 use DE and wormer u would put in the water also? Or do u just use one or the other?? We like to use the DE to help with the flies cuz they r bad this year, but not sure if we should put wormer in their water along with using the DE.

You can use the wormer in their water if you want to. It won't hurt but imo it isn't necessary.

Sometimes DE is a good enough wormer. But when I see worms in thier poo, I use the wormer in their water and follow up 10 days later with the wormer paste (for horses, forget the name right now.)

I wouldn't use the wormer in the water all the time, because you have to throw away the eggs for 10 days after you use it, so all the time use would mean you never have eggs. Plus, it's really like a poison to kill the worms, and you're only supposed to use it for one day -- more than that at one time could be too hard on your birds and actually kill them.

I am still not clear on what liquid wormer you are using, earnhardtlvr. Do your chickens have worms or are you trying to use it as a preventive? The wormers I am aware of should only be used to treat a worm infestation and using them as a preventive can cause resistance in any worms your flock or those exposed to your flock (like if you ever attend swaps) become infested with. Resistant worms are extremely difficult to treat for and are more likely to require culling your flock.
