DE and Sweet PDZ ?

First time chick owner and i got em in the coop and did a ton of research on here. but still got a ? i bought some sweet pdz for the coop and poop board and some DE. Should i spread them both in the coop bedding, i know the pdz is to dry out the poo and moisture and i was gonna mix it with sand on the poop board. I bought the DE to mix in with sand for a dust bath in a container on the floor. is this the correct way to use these products? Do i need both or are they interchangable?

I don't use DE anymore, but I use sweet DPZ - I just spread a very fine layer on the poop board.I use a windshield ice scrapper with a long handle to scrape the poop every day.

BTW... I started using a face mask when cleaning the coop - poop board - especially important if you use DE or sweet DPZ.
