De- Beaking?

I don't believe in debeaking myself, but posting links to PETA affliated sites does not help the cause. Nor is it allowed on BYC.

I don't like debeaking or any other inhumane treatment but I don't like web sites soliciting Veganism either.

Does anyone have experience with "peepers"?? They are some sort of anti-pick "tool" that you clip onto the chickens face (??) Anyone know what this is and if it will hurt the chicken? This is the link to the Murray McMurray product "poly peepers"

Peepers are held in place by a plastic pin or small hog ring that goes through the chicken's nostrils. The peeper prevents the bird from being able to peck at another bird since it can't get close enough with it's beak. I imagine you might have to use modified feeders of some type as well.

Well it is an organization that tells about what bebeaking actually does to a chick, so if someone really wants to know its a good site to look at.
Sorry you are offened by veganism, I am not a vegan but its just someones food choice...to me its not a big deal.
