De -Icer Recommendation ?

Hi,

I have a 5 gallon bucket/ nipple waterer and want to use a de-icer in the winter. Does anyone use one they can recommend?

I'm using one similar to the bottom one but is cheaper at tractor supply, this will be the first year with it but it says it will keep up to 30 gallons from freezing. To me it looks like a very simple set up. I am putting a few small rocks on the bottom to keep it off the nipples.

Does the coiled guard rust in the water? can you remove it from the cord?

If it starts to rust, you should be able to stop it with "Hi-Temperature" grill or engine paint
