De Question For Dogs

hELLO, found my dog has tapeworm. I have some DE I bought at the feed store that is used to put on your veggies to keep bug away/kill them, can I use it for my dogs tapeworm? This de is local and it costs too much for them to label it as organic, can I still use it internally for the tapeworm, safely? Any help greatful.

Food grade DE can be used, but from my experience, while it is effective for preventing infestations, it isn't the best thing to use when an infestation is already present. If it were me, I would get some wormer and worm the dog with that.

DE will be too weak to treat an existing infestation. Personally while I think DE is great for helping to prevent external parasites I'm hesitant to feed it to something. I'd prefer to keep something like that external.

If you stop by any local petstore or feedstore they should have what you need. I was surprised by the range of dog dewormers the petco here carries. Not all that expensive for dewormer either depending what you buy and how many doses you plan to do.
