De-segregating roo - adding to flock.

How many hens do you have for the roosters?
we have 2 araucana hens and 4 other large fowl and 1 young bantam who just started laying
one of the 4 hens is running about with 5 aruancana chicks and an EE chick spurning all advances

BTW....A 'trio' is usually 1 cock/erel and 2 pullets/hens of the same breed.

So six hens breeding and one with chicks. That is a little light on the ratio of hens to roosters. If the aracunas were bare backed when you got them the bantum trying to mate wouldn't help the situation. I would think that he might be hanging, riding to try to complete the deed is just as much of a factor then the bigger rooster who does it faster. I think that even after they finish molting you will be back in the same situation. You might be alright if all the chicks are pullets, but....
