Does anyone add DE to their Chick Starter? Also, when do you start feeding the chicks regular chicken feed? Do babies like table scraps?

I fed them the starter until they were 10 weeks, then the grow mash. I have never used DE simple because I can't find it. Wait a until the chicks are about 4-6 weeks before you start scrapes - a little yogurt is a good starter treat.

I started adding DE to my growing mash, and then when I changed over to layer pellets, I still use de. love the stuff. marrie

what age do u give them laying mesh?

I started mine on lay mash about 20-22 weeks, close the time they should start laying. Some breeds typically wait long to start laying, like EE's. Late bloomers.

Yes, after they start lay mash, we stop the grower all together. I forgot to mention that we feed them both until they lay.
