It's a bit like chalk, but powder.
It's microscopic skelitons of marine things. It irritates bugs and mites and keeps them off the chickens.

Yes, but use it judiciously. It'll kill beneficial insects like honeybees and ladybugs just as much as it will kill flies and slugs. It's best to put it wher you've got the problem - coop, run, bases of plants that are getting nibbled, etc. - rather than sprinkle liberally over everything.

Get a duster or one of those pump spray things.
But don't go crazy, It will also kill the good stuff like bees and ladybugs etc.

My tomato plants had some of the biggest worms on them I ever saw. Picked off what I could fine then sifted DE very generously over the plants,hasn't kept the chickens out they still go in and scratch and eat all maters in reach, but no worms.Have watched for bees but haven't seen any at all this year, so I just beat the tomato plants good with a rolled up newspaper to pollinate them worked great.
