Dead chick at 3 wks old

I just went to check on my chicks for the night and one of the cochins was dead, lying on it's back

They are 3 wks old and I hadn't lost any so far. I had just checked on them about two hours ago and this particular chick was just fine, eating and acting normally. Now I'm worried about the rest.

Just keep an eye on them. Sometimes it just happens for no reason.

I went and checked this morning first thing and they are all fine, very relieved! I hope you are right, just one of those things. It's hard to lose your first chicken

I am sorry you lost your baby. I lost my baby blue cochin at 8 days old. It was terrible, she was a beauty.

I'm so sorry - that'd be very tough.

But I'm glad the rest are ok - hopefully it was just a fluke.
