hello chicken fans !
I need help... I found my 3 year old chicken sitting on the chicken coop and when I took her she started immediately vomiting a light yellow fluid. I hold her until she was done. She want it to fly away and I put her in the floor and she start moving really fast but was not able to walk. One minute later she was dead. Any ideas?
Thanks so much

Welcome to BYC. Sorry about your hen.
Her digestive system was backed up and that is due to either something in her abdomen putting pressure on it or something blocking her digestive tract either in the gizzard or the crop.
How do you feel about doing an informal necropsy?

I did 😢 I don’t know anything about it but my sister help me over the phone. There was a yellow liquid and a terrible smell. I though maybe I’ll see an egg somewhere inside but nothing... I’ll post a picture

Here is what I saw ...

Does she was lethargic when was in the coop or she was acting normal?
I did not see them the day before but 2 days ago she was fine as always walking around. She was always shy but will come close to get worms. When I found her on the coop she was already very sick and I think be user I pick her up it accelerated her dead 😢 it was very fast

Hello again I posted the pics. Can you tell by looking at those what was wrong ? Thanks a lot for your help and sharing your expertise

That's a lot of fat on that chicken. It could be part of the problem...
She was a good eater but did not seem to be the biggest on my group. They are free range and go every where around and I give them snacks sometimes like worms and saltines. Picture below of my black chicken 😢
