Change water everday..check you hen house for mites..theyvareceasier to spot at late evening or night especially if you have a broody chicken sitting in there

How do you treat them
Mites? Change bedding r..remove and burn...scrub clean all area..spray with perythian (may have spelled wrong..used to treat fleas) I bought mine where I mixed my self so I could use correct strength for the problem. Put powder on my chickens that had the same ingredients. Getting under wings and etc. As for worms I am getting ready to use pancur paste and put 3 cc in a gallon of water that ibwill dump after 24 hours hours them repeat in a few days

I put DE (diatomaceous earth) everywhere I can’t do the cleaning we need more pins and I cleaned it the other day we only had DE so I did that it’s in their dust bath so they can roll in it

Water looked Weird today and I didn’t pay attention yesterday and found a dead hen
I'm sorry about your hen.

Hard to know why she died without necropsy, there's so many things that can happen.

Since you did find lice on the body and I do see lice nits on the feathers, I'd recommend that you go ahead and treat the rest of your chickens and their housing to get on top of any infestation that may be brewing.

You can find Permethrin based poultry spray and dust at your local feed store or at TSC.

You can buy dust, premixed spray or concentrate that you mix yourself, any of these are affect in getting rid of lice/mites when you follow the direction on the label of the product and repeat treatment of birds and housing in 5-7 days intervals. Do keep in mind that it's necessary to clean out their housing of old bedding and treat roosting bars and nesting boxes too. Getting rid of the parasites will make your birds more comfortable and they will be healthier without the bugs.

Here's some examples of what you may find at TSC.
