Bad news.... My EE cockerel died today. He has been sick for the past couple of weeks, but we weren't sure if he was really sick since he just seemed quiet. he had some repiratory problems, but other than that we thought he was fine. We just let him wander around wherever, and today I found him dead. What should I do? How should I dispose of his body? If he really was sick with something bad, I don't want my other chickens to catch it. Right now they're completely healthy, and show now symptoms. We think he may of died of ILT, but we're not sure. He's missing a few symptoms from all the listed diseases we've looked through.

If it were me, I'd take him for a necropsy. ILT is nothing to sneeze at!! You want to be able to rest assured that he didn't have anything serious and contagious so that's what I recommend.

ETA: I'm sorry you lost your little cockeral.

Sorry to hear about your EE. I agree w/ Birdlover, its the only way to know for sure what went down...esp. if you are concerned about the rest of the flock. I hope this illness goes no further than 1 bird.
