Dead chickens.

Well I'm inexperienced in raising chickens, just starting a couple of months ago but if you're intent on eating your roo, I read that it's best to isolate them night of the beheading with just water. Then early in the morning a quick lop off and a bucket to drain and defeather quickly improves the meat quality. I guess the credo goes less stress the more tender meat. Don't know if this helps just putting my two cents in.
