Doubtful. Animal control here does nothing. And if they do catch it they release it again in your yard. Just in a different place. I have seen them before a some of the hunting stores around so I will look at getting my own.

Raccoons are everywhere here in Florida. I just had one attacked almost 2 mns ago and I woke up to catch it in the act. She is still alive now but blind and very skittish. She calms to my voice but that is about it. I am in Tampa, FL. I leave mine out during the day and just cage them around dinner time every night. The one that got attacked was miscounted by my sonwho is 9 so he learned a hard lesson in life. The raccoon went for her eyes first then her neck - tore out all of her feathers around her neck so it sure sounds like a coon. I got my trap at TSC in Plant City - I use cheap Publix sausage and it traps them every time I put it in there. Good luck with trapping the predator.![]()
15? Now that is a scary number! I am hoping it is only this one. I have a 22 and a pellet rifle. Dont get paid till tomorrow though so trap will have to wait. Just have to make a new door for now.I borrowed a trap from my neighbor thinking it was a one-time deal trapping a raccoon that ransacked my feed room one night about 6 weeks ago. After the 4th trapped raccoon in less than 2 weeks broke the borrowed trap, I bought a replacement trap for my neighbor and my own trap at home depot for $45 each (havahart brand). In 6 weeks, we have trapped 14 raccoons on our property... and expect to see the 15th one when I go out this morning to check the trap. All poultry owners should have their own trap as predators are always an issue.
I also recommend a 22 gauge handgun for disposing of trapped raccoon, as the most powerful pellet rifle on the market will not provide a quick kill.
What is a good bait to use in the trap?
