Quote: There are '6 chicks min' rules in many places....
.....not sure if they are state or corporate or what.
Supposed to keep folks from buying one or two chicks, ducks, bunnies for easter presents.

.....but I saw a teen wanting to buy one chick at a small pet/farm store, owner told her you have to buy at least 2, and cage, heat lamp, feeder, waterer, etc.
Kid had NO clue how to take care of an animal....that's why the 'rule' exists, tho obviously some ignore it.
It's like 'giving away' a 'free' pet/animal......you charge money so the uncommitted go away.
Yes, it's surprising how many don't even know to to use chick/chicken feed. I come across so many on here. But many still won't know about all the help available at BYC, I'm so glad I found it!!'Rules' never benefit, or apply, to everyone.....
