I'd go over the coop really well to make sure nothing got in and she didn't get into anything but it is possible to just lose an animal. Sometimes they have a problem like a weak heart or sometimes for reasons unknown they get blood clots in their brain or heart. One of my competitors in 4-h walked out to her pasture one day to find her young, completely healthy looking horse dead without a mark. The decided it was a blood clot in her brain.
She could also have gotten overly stressed by something outside the coop that didn't manage to get in and that contributed to the problem.
