Dead in a ditch

I found my chicken dead in a ditch with a broken neck and ankle. She was roosting in a tree beside the ditch. Do you think she fell out of the tree?

Possible but doubtful. I predict something grabbed her and did her in.

Maybe. It is also possible that she was attacked by a bird of prey.

Hello fellow Wayne Countian! I grew up in Westmoreland. Sorry about your chicken. If she was roosting at night perhaps an owl got her. We have lots of red tail hawks out here during the day.

Yeah, 2 chicks last year was taken by a hawk. To me, Wayne is the best place!!
