Dead Lice (?)

Hi All, I purchased six cochin bantam chicks from a breeder a couple weeks ago, I didn't realize until yesterday that they were covered in lice / mites! I applied a medication and the pests are dead -but now I'm dying to wash the chics to remove the nasty lice carcases (especially all the dead ones under their wings! ) So gross! Should I wash them or let them clean their selves?

I would not wash them because washing them can be dangerous if they aren't 100% healthy, and since they were covered in lice, they probably aren't feeling too good right now.
