Dead rooster! NO eggs!

Rooster killed now all of my hens have stopped laying. Has anyone ever heard of this???Is it a huge coincidence?

Was the rooster killed intentionally, or did a predator kill him?

A car got him! He was an extremely aggressive rooster, very protective of his hens.....

Loss of flock member can cause some stress,which can cause cessation of lay, but will most likely pass within a week.

If your bird are free range, how else would one get hit by a car, they may be laying out in range area and keeping them penned for awhile might be a good idea for safety and laying in coop nests..

Yup, they are free range, car did not drive into the coop ... Already tried keeping them in for a day, no eggs.... All six hens stopped at once, very strange....

Go a week, at least, one day is not long enough.
Stress from loss of flock member and being cooped all of a sudden will take some time to overcome.
