From my point of view chickens Serve two purposes, the first one they are a utility birds( eggs and an sometimes as dinner ) and the second one is that at least some of them serve as pets. But even when a " classic" pet(dog,bird) become a danger to men or other animals if you can't correct the problem it usually cold. When a chicken or a rooster is putting other floc member in a risk of injury or becoming sick because it is stressing them to much( I recommend you to do some research about the connection between the level of stress and maladies like Marek's disease in chicken ) you will understand why they fined there way very quickly to the pot!
