Dealing with difficult and annoying neighbors?

I have LITERAL neighbors from HELL! OMG I've called animal control on their barking dogs (got that fixed!) their outside lights ON all night - fixed that with crazy bright lights installed that shine on THEIR place and now squawking quail - fixed that last yr with LOUD hard rock music all day facing their place. But now they're at it again so on goes the hard rock! They just are arrogant disrespectful 'youknowwhats' !!! The LDS church won't do anything, sheriffs office won't do anything so I've taken things into my own hands. This is why people go over the edge and go ballistic. I'm about there! I've tried talking to them (nicely) and they just think they're above the law. Nobody in the neighborhood likes them and there's only FOUR of us!

I'm confused. They're the neighbor from hell?

Without going into too much detail and history, my neighbour is a very abusive man to all members of his family unit. On the day he moved in, some 13yr ago now, he helped himself to entering my yard and cutting my white orchard blooms. I had not spoken to him, nor have I ever engaged in conversaton with him. I live alone with my two well-trained dogs and three Pekin bantam hens. Hearing the way he spoke to his three small children told me all I needed to know about his mentality.

He abuses very small puppies, women and children. His adult maltese terriers are kept and used as weapons against all his neighbours. Any sound by us going about our lives during daylight hours (while he is nursing a bender hangover), will be cause for punishment.

One time, when his other neighbours were enjoying a sunny Sunday BBQ with guests, a bit of country music playing, mr charmless next door decided to prune and mulch / chip all the hedges along his fence. Then he's throwing sheets of tin around etc. On other such occassions he will have allowed the lawn to grow several feet high, in readiness for a revenge attack, and then whipper-snip the entire yard.

He has watched which plants I water, then cut all the flower heads off just as they are due to open. He's snapped my very thorny roses and left them on my doorstep. Stolen shoes from my doorstep. He's let my chickens out while I'm out walking my dogs. It was my dog who alerted me to a chicken being out (at risk of being had by a cat).

One xmas eve he called my name, then urinated on my front flower bed right in front of me. He would also encourage his dogs to do their biz on my front yard diuring the nite. A few weeks ago, my younger dog alerted me to a maltese terrier squatting on my side of the nature strip. I yelled out that he had better be picking that up. Charmless man did so with his hands! Yep.

He just up and leaves his dogs for a week at a time over xmas, easter etc, with someone dropping in daily, usually his now-adult daughter, to also yell abuse at them, feed them and leave in under 10minutes. The barking soon resumes. Early on there was an intervention by welfare when police finally attended and I opened the door with my little black book in hand. He soon whipped out his book and started taking notes. As soon I mentioned the abuse the abuse toward his kids, I knew it would have to go somewhere up the chain. Within a week there were suits and clipboards walking in and out. The kids had their mullets cut off and vans were picking them up for karate and footy activities. These children will recieve support until they are 26yrs, to break the cycle.

Please, no one reply with reporting him to animal protection services. These organisations only look at removing dogs who are chained up / caged in filthy pens without water etc - extreme situations - that is their primary job. They don't have the power to make ppl care, enrich or engage with their dogs, nor should they have that power. These attributes are either within the human or they are not.

I have a diary and have spoken to a solicitor, who was dead keen on taking him on. I guess because I have never spoken to him or retaliated gave him the impression I was a easy target. After yrs of calls to police and local council, it was actually police who put me in touch with his other neighbour and since then we have joined forces with another neighbour and all called police on the same nite in the January of 2024. Police must have thrown all the books at their disposal at him due to the quietness of the place. We told police of all his antics, and given the welfare intervention + his recent drink driving bust (he has an immobiliser fitted to his car), they see what a menace he truly is.

He has been so drunk that he hasn't been able to park his car in front of his own house. Now he at least has to catch the bus.
