Dealing with friends insulting me because I raise pet chickens.

I have Ducks and have had people ask me why Ducks? I ask back, Why Not? I tell them it is the only pets I have ever had that I feed them and they feed me. I eat 2 eggs a day from them and love them. If your friend is making fun of you for loving your Chickens then she or he is not really a friend. Friends don't make Friends sad or unhappy. If she or he has a dog tell her she can eat what they put out and you'll stick to the delicious eggs you are getting. LOL

I've dealt with the "chicken razzing" most of my life... I've heard every tired old joke - yes, I think I've heard them all. I simply roll my eyes, sigh, and change the subject - and yes, I do this right to their face. Eventually, they stop.

You see, when they finally come to realize that they're not going to get a rise out of me, they quit with the lame jokes. Don't let them bother you or you will always be bothered by them - it's that simple.

Not a real friend. Get some actually good friends that dont make fun of you. Or, better yet, just have chickens as your main friends like I do

Tell her like I tell my Friends when they ask me Why Ducks??? I tell them they are the only pet I have ever had that I feed them and in return they feed me with delicious eggs. With the price of eggs here in Ohio everyone understands that statement.
