Dealing with homicidal coturnix quail

I got rid of my male, he was driving the laying birds nuts and his early morning crowing was quite annoying. Fertilized eggs are very cheap to buy if you want to hatch some more out. I also have them in two cages and had to rearrange them several times before the bullying died down but they seem quite content now. Happily cricketing and dusting and scratching.
