Dear chicken know-it-alls,

This thread is hysterical! I'll come back for therapy after I get beat up -- assuming I'm brave enough to come out of hiding on any of those threads.

and, ummm, I'm amazed nobody has mentioned the fancy footed chicktaurs that only feather out correctly if they are fed small bites of amaranth.

as a side, I'm very happy there are sticklers for breed standards, who pour their money, heart and soul into the veracity of a breed... but I appreciate the folks who are willing to invest a little of their time to make other people's chicken experience good. so Thank you!

LOL It's not so bad...I've been on message boards before. Parenting message boards might just be the worst, b/c they will find a way to make you feel guiltier tan you already do about EVERYTHING! I love it here...SO much info!!

both of you!
What color eggs to the Fancy Footed Chictaurs lay? I hadn't mentioned them because I don't know much about them-maybe you can enlighten me?
Wait-is there an I in Chictaur?

Ok, lost again, the Chictaurs are what cross again???

OK, we need a cross that can provide, meat, eggs, AND dairy, get working on that one please!!

Just wondering, why call us "know it alls". We are simply "more educated" in chickens than some people.....

They already have these.. I saw them at an auction but they wanted $2500 for the trio... I think they were called French Boerarans... They had a six teat udder, feathered legs and laid a dark chocolate covered egg. They had egg samples for sale and swore they tasted like caramel egg nog but I think I saw cadbury wrappers behind the cooler..
