The humidity goes up when I add egg because they too are now putting off some moisture through evaporation. It is usually not a significant increase but does register on the hygrometer.Sometimes the humidity goes up for unknown reasons, which is weird. I use wells too. Yes, I have candled and thrown out the dead or infertile eggs.
Ambient humidity can fluctuate day to day and through out each day. Think all the dew on the ground in the morning and completely dry later. Or for us coastal fog moves in for the evening/morn but mid day is clear. So that can have some impact.

It was a very a real post with someone looking for ways to improve their hatch rate and hopefully avoid accidents a little easier. The OP was clearly VERY bothered as well.

For me knowing where my food comes from and understanding the circle of life has made things easier to ACCEPT, but not 2 like. The more I hatch the more I see.
