That sounds like exactly what you need!
Not with out a market I don't. A combination of Silkie, Aseel, Saipan, and Indio Gigante makes it look more feasible. Tiny silkies to the majestic big kids. I love them all but right now my little silkie kids have stolen my heart. We've had nothing but cloudy days for several weeks. Tomorrow is another cloudy day. I hate to use flash on them. The first sunny morning we can get photos as the east windows in the sunroom let in good light. Tomorrow is clean out the brooder day and put in new pellets. They've been on large shavings until now. Shavings make it hard to get good photos. I think pellets being lower down will help.

In another week I'll get about 30 silkie eggs which I will give an OdoBan treatment. I have not seen the rooster or hens so I'm fly blind with what I'm getting. Right now I just hope to get some good broody mama girls. Later on I want more of the fancy cute things like Debbie has. They are so cute it should almost be illegal.

How about building one? I told hubby about @BantyChooks idea of coming to America, Wisconsin specifically, as he's the engineer, and hubby's the electrician, and those two could pump out a dozen or so in a week. ☺️

Well, we know that won't work out, but he said he'd take a look at @BantyChooks incubator articles and a few others and see what he thinks. The problem is, he's still working for a few months until he retires at 62, but then has to finish our house. I'd be looking at him getting that built maybe by next summer, and jeez, I don't want to wait THAT long lol.

At my age I can't wait either. Y'all are spring chicks compared to me and my gal. I dreamed this idea up after reading about trays being an accessory for one brand of incubators. We made our own from parts. Parts at a dollar store. This is a way to separate eggs by what ever trait. By rooster, by color, etc. It would help with hatch rates according to rooster even. I've put some eggs into lock down tonight from my own girls and boys. Now I will know as they hatch and can but a band on their feet to better keep track of them. I can control humidity well enough to remove hatchlings every few hours without a problem. What do you think of this Hillbilly Engineering?

I wish I had the capability to do this! I sort of do in the Brinsea though but not with staggered hatches going on. This sure beats those onion bags I bought for separation though!

Those little baskets are 2 for $1.25 and 3 for $1.25 for the smaller size. There is some anti skid matte in the bottoms of them. They would be to slick without the rubber type matte in the bottom for the chicks to be able to walk on. They will not be in this unit long. Once dry they will go into second stage of hatch for a few hours and then on to the brooder.

Brilliant idea! I will look for them next time I'm in town. I think there are two dollar stores there.
