Is Daly your last name? It's my last name and I love meeting other Daly folks.

Ooo, nice to meet you! It's actually my fiancé's last name at the moment but I'll be stealing it for my last name too in a year or so.
I do call him Daly like it's first name because when I met him, I didn't like his real first name which is Darryl. It doesn't suit him.

Well it's always nice to know another Daly! My grandma always said the family legend was that all the people with that last name, spelled that way, are related. Unfortunately, we never really knew anyone from the Daly side of the family except in our 3-4 generations. So we never got to know much about our Daly ancestors. I think we're from Ireland though. The Daly part of our family anyway.

Indeed it is!!
Unfortunately, the Daly part of our family is on his dad's side, who didn't raise him. I've never met his father in the 5 years I've known him!
So we/I don't know an awful lot about that side of the family.
He's always been really proud of his name, though and has the family crest framed on a wall.

That's funny, we don't know too much about the Daly side of our family either! The name comes from my grandpa on my dad's side and he passed away in 1972. My dad knows more of the relatives on his mom's side than his dad's.
