Quail take 18 days to hatch.

California's take 23 days

Plans.... well ...... ummmm I swapped them for oeg eggs

They fetch good money here as they are reasonably rare in captivity.
They can only be kept in pairs..... which might be a good thing...

My Marans eggs arrived just now. I'm super excited! I've left them to rest for now, but I'm really happy with the look of them so far (I've not unpacked them further yet.

Just candled my ducks eggs, all remaining eggs are developing! I still don't like their air cells so it looks like I'll be hatching those upright

We candled all of our marans eggs and put them in the incubator. I have to say, we saw NOTHING. These eggs are super dark. I'm not really sure how we will assess them later

for me, for Marans, even with the brightest light I can get my hands on that won't overheat the eggs, I've not been able to determine anything before day 17. So I just do the sniff test. if it smells off out it goes

Candled my Sultan eggs 6 or 7 out of the dozen look good. Ducks still all look OK.
