December 2021 Hatch-A-Long

Super late to this but love to see babies hatching! Also just ordered some quail eggs (myshire farms) to hatch out... should be set on December 14th for a new years hatch along. excited to do my first hatching process from start to finish with shipped eggs, but nervous the weather will ruin the eggs.

Love myshire's quail! This is a good week for shipping eggs from Ohio because it's nice and warm.

They are so cute! I love naked necks. I have a little cross breed bantam NN cockerel, I can't wait for him to mature so I can make more

I have a fresh duckling. It looks dark and has a yellow bill so that would be one of the Pekin/khaki mixes. so far one of each and a mix

One more black chick, not a NN, one NN egg left. No promises on the neck.

I have 11 in incubator for dec. 21, and I am going to put in eggs for New Year's tomorrow. After hatching this batch Dec 9th, and the batch before, I am done with Blue copper maran, And I am done with trying for NN for now(I know they are a 50% chance NN.) I am getting black chicks which is fine, but I am afraid of having an all dark flock.

So looking at what to hatch next for now... I am going for the Bluebelle eggers, the LO, and the Bantam eggs. I may end up with all blue chickens but I am okay with that. I will photo before the set.

Newest duckling.
also had another pekin hatch but not looking good. Its the first pipper, finally hatched dry gunk and sticky gunk all over it, I also see intestines poking out

IDK, I will probably hatch them all (42? incubator) not that many though, ha-ha. I am waiting on one chick to hatch before I can load an incubator. My plan, hatch everyone, keep what I like re-home the rest.
