So looks like I will be joining this month. I have been busy building the infrastructure of the new farm, but I will be setting about 6 dozen eggs Saturday, once I get a few from a breeder friend to rebuild one of my breeds that was decimated from hail and giant centipedes

Welcome to the hatching party! 6 dozen, wow! What breeds are you setting? Sorry to hear about your losses. Giant centipedes? We have those here, red non poisonous prehistoric looking ones, the chickens eat them.

Anyone doing a December Hatch-A-Long? I know it is winter and too cold for many folks, but there must be others out there that have warmer temps, too? I am planning on setting some of my own eggs in about a week, so will be early December hatch date.

Yes I’ve got a game hen laying on about 12 right now. I had ordered some Welsh Harlequin duck eggs, along with some super early season goose eggs that I’m going to try and hatch as well.

Yes, their venom killed the youngsters within a day or two.

Nice breeds! I remember you were trying to hatch some white ameraucana last spring! .
I was trying for the self blue version. Didn’t hatch any! Apparently they’re a bit tricky.
