DECEMBER Hatch-A-Long!😊

I was able to place Iris, my last remaining 12/4 chick with the remaining Christmas Eve babies without incident. She is 3 weeks older then them. I was worried she would step on them, but they all get along nicely so far.

Quite terribly! But at least I have some babies! Out of 9 fertile chicken eggs, 2 hatched on New Years, but were due on Dec 29th. The rest DIS. The 10 quail eggs that were due New Years also hatched late. Out of those, I have 4 healthy babies. 3 eggs did not hatch, 2 pipped and died, and 1 hatched and died. They hatched late due to the temp in my incubator dropping to 93F during lockdown. It took a while to get it back up.

But! That said, I am really happy with the cute little babies that I do have. Also, one of the quail hatched 2 days later than the others so that’s why it is sooo tiny.

Congrats on the ones that made it! Sorry for the losses. The two that hatched were brown leghorn crosses, right? Cuties!

Iris looks like a giant, compared to the littles It's good she's a gentle giant. They're all adorable.
