Hey there!! New to this thread. I just got a mini incubator and want to do a New Years Day hatch. Am I in the right place?

I think that would technically put you in a January hatch-along, but I don't think it really matters.

In other news, I just set a whole bunch of OD eggs this evening. My source kindly gave me, in addition to the 18 I had requested, another 19 that are 2-3 weeks old - long shots, I know, but we might get lucky. I had to fire up a second incubator since I wasn't expecting that many and only have room for the 18 or so in the shiny new Brinsea. Fingers crossed

I said no more hatching this year. BUTTTTTT, Sigh I have no control because of being in rebuild mode. So I have BCM eggs in the 2nd incubator that i had cleaned and put away and they are due the 16th. Though to be honest I don't expect a single one of these eggs to hatch due to the post office.

My hatch due for lockdown on the 1st, not feeling good about that one either. Only 1 was what I would say was good to go.

Lesson from this, unless it is my own eggs, no incubating past September for me.

Oops.... I was supposed to wait to hatch on jan 1st..... but a chicken friend had copper marans eggs and Turkey eggs, and then surprised mr with a dozen silkie eggs... so now i have chicks due dec 7th and if the turkeys go they will be due dec 14th. And more to set this next Saturday

I have two tiny test clutches from my new Silkie hens that I set 11.16 (2 eggs) and 11.20 (3 eggs) respectively, so my expected hatch dates are 12.7 and 12.11!

Found 3 more Turkey eggs today so those were added to.the stash that will be added Saturday. So far the turkey eggs have been from the black turkey pen.
