chickflick,
I will ask her when she is on break at work. It would be great to get married while snow comes down. Much better then a rainstorm. If you would like to come you can. We want to invite a few people on BYC. Please dont wrap up one of your roos as a wedding gift lol. I know thats an easy way to get rid of them.

By fairy tale, do you mean Medieval or Renaissance style? We made invitations to look like old scrolls. They turned out very nice. Not too expensive, just time intensive. But I worked on them in the evenings while watching TV.

LOL Planning???? What's that????

My wedding was outside in June on a dock on a lake. Then the "reception" was a good ole fashion pig pickin. The lake house belonged to my cousin and her father in law cooked the pig. The guy that married us was a family friend who also married my parents.

I'm a big fan of simple and my wedding was as simple as possible.

That would be great!!! Darn, I have an extra roo I was gonna give you! You ruined my plans!! You sure? It could be you first bird in MI!! Krisrose has a few extra too!! Let me know the details!! Love to meet you.

chickflick,

nah 1 to many roos as of now.

southern,

I want a very simple wedding. nothing to big but I want fancy.

pelican,

i want to dress like a prince and she wants to dress like a princess. Kind of like a cinderella wedding without the rats lol.

Stevie, if you're thinking outdoors in Michigan in April, and "historical"

think ermine, and fur, and velvet ... with hoods !

(can be fake fur or fleece ... to take care of the bleeding-heart Bambi lovers)

in other words -- bundle up !

have a nice warm hall or home or such, close by ---
and just let everyone know it is OUTDOORS so they can dress for the weather ... prepare for blizzard and smile if sun comes out

Love it. But I'm pretty much hooked on the whole Renaissance/Medieval thing. Most of my daughter's guests came in costume too.

I'd done a lot of costume sewing before, but I'd never made a wedding dress. It was a bit nerve wracking since it was for my daughter!

The maidens keeping the bride from escaping. Just the girls - messing around.

Indoors sounds much more sensible for April. You know it can rain like the dickens that time of year as well as snow - and it will be near-freezing rain on frozen ground.

If your fiancee wants to wear her wedding dress for the reception (most people do) then reception indoors would be wise, too. Sleet and mud don't necessarily improve one's enjoyment of one's wedding finery

Not trying to be a wet blanket, just pointing out the realities of weather and season,

Pat

Be cool if you can find glass slippers!! That's so neat....Cinderella and her prince. My grand daughter loves Cinderella! I do hope the weather will be nice and at least a little on the warm side!!
