Deck for duck hut?

Hi, this duck hut under construction is 6*14' by 7' tall. I can make the interior floorspace 6*14, or, recess the door 2' to leave a little space 2*6 like a front porch with an overhang. This is largely to accommodate the horse stall mat dimensions. (6*4'). I was planning on putting 3 stall mats inside that would cover 6*12'. Would the ducks like or use a front porch or would this be wasted floorspace?

It is possible they would use it if it were up to me I would do it

I love how they are just piled all over the work-in-progress build.
