Decoy owls

has anyone ever used decoy owls or other decoy animals to keep away predators because a great horned owl has moved into the forest by our house and I'm worried about it attacking my chickens we also have Hawks everywhere to

You're thinking about putting a decoy owl up to keep an owl away?

Great Horned Owls are the top predators in their environment, and I wouldn't expect them to be scared off by much, except a bigger owl. And there aren't any in most of their range.

I highly doubt a decoy Owl would work to keep anything away. I have seen where Hotels have decoy owls on the roof to keep pigeons off and the pigeons roost on top of the owl.

Ok well I know it works with herons at koi ponds to put a decoy heron up to keep real ones from landing

Even the fake heron doesn't really work after the real herons figure it out.
