thanks all! glad to hear I'm most likely gonna make it! lol I do feel awfully silly now that I think about it. Heck, if I gave even one person a laugh it was worth it!

drmeyes236 - yep, WAY out here in Geagua county (snowbelt, need I say more?) I sent you a PM earlier today.

pdsavage - funny you should mention that as that's what made me think of doing it in the first place. lol only other idea i had was to take out all the eggs and dump the tray...i didn't like my odds in that one, way too clumsy for that!!!

over easy in adna - we also have a well, it is probably about 100 feet from the house though. i know i actually feel better about that then if we had city water!

dfancingbear - good point! we actually have a well so no chlorine (at least I don't think there is?!) isn't that just city water? but I will try to think of a more, um, let's say more logical way of resolving it if that should happen again!

embkm - I have to say i'm SO happy to hear i'm not the only one that did that (and admit to it)!

I grew up with well water, (yep, no chlorine there) and it never hurt us.

Right now we have to haul water, or have it delivered, unless it rains enough to fill the cistern with roof-runoff water. We can't drink that, so we get drinking and cooking water from town, and filter out the chlorine. (yes, we live in the sticks)

We're supposed to get county water by the end of the year. I wish we had a well, here!
