Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Do all of the perk holes have to test good?

No. The one closest to the road filled to about 8 inches from the top. One beside the house might be at the 12 inches. One by garden 14. One in front of house 16. Next is 18, then 15 further away. Must have at least 12 inches but they prefer more.

If we get a choice it will be one in front of house. Would prefer to put new house where that 18 inch one is. Old house will be torn down.

I rearranged chickens at 5:30 this morning. Now all 14 of the full blooded New Hampshire hens, pullets and cockerels are in the big run. The RIR hen and the four RIRxNH pullets are in a separate run.
Smokerbill, chicken juggler extraordinaire.

The older NHs are getting along well with the young ones. They've been in a see/no touch situation for at least a couple months so they kind of know each other already. Plus their mama is one of the old ones so they're related.

Still deciding on whether to sell the four point of lay pullets and RIR hen, or keeping them for egg production.
