Deep Litter experts - I have a question about moisture

I'm loving the DLM so far, but my run is roofed and dry, and I'm wondering if I should be adding some moisture to the litter occasionally so things can break down better? What does everyone else do?

As I'm new to the DLM also, but not composting, the moisture from the ground and chicken poop is pretty much all you need. It's a slow process, but no smell and the chicken's scratching the deep litter keeps it well turned and in balance.

Depends on your goals...are you trying to make good garden soil or just break down the poops?
