I am doing the deep litter method but this is the first time that I will be cleaning it out. Spring cleaning!!!!

Anyway, I know to pull all the litter out and to scrub the surfaces with bleach. But the questions I have is is there anything that I am missing in the process of cleaning everything and what do you do with your chickens so they won't try to climb back into the coop while you are using bleach and stuff. I wonder this because everytime I go in there they follow me. How will they lay there eggs? Are they going to come in whether I like it or not and I just gotta deal with it?

Sorry for all the questions but I am planning on doing this tomorrow so I'm looking for the extra answers before then.

Wait until late morning after they have laid and lock them outside until you're done. However, why do you need to bleach? If your flock hasn't suffered from disease and you've managed the deep litter properly, I see no reason to use bleach...especially if it's for the same flock of birds and not new chicks.
