Crop issues have resolved completely! I think it was just lack of fluids to help empty it. So that's good.

Vet is going to extend antibiotics , I talked to him this morning and suggested I add honey on her infected wound.

Yeah I had to look into it because I was hesitant right away! Oh I just hope so bad she pulls through ! I love this stinking hen so much. I'm down to three and she's my original, the only one I've had since she was a chick. If I lose her, I need to rehome the other two. I just can't do it anymore started having chickens 2 years ago and have lost most of them already.

I think she's doing ok. I brought her home about a week ago and continued to tube feed her because she still wasn't eating or drinking. Had to make a stop on the way home because she was so pale and her comb was completely flopped over. And she ended up losing a ton of weight. So I haven't seen her for about a week and I was sick about leaving her but had no choice. My parents aren't hands on with them but enough to keep me updated that she is eating and drinking and wounds look ok. Idk if it's been long enough for her to be in the clear or not but I sure hope so. I think about her constantly and still worried

When we got back, one chicken tried to challenge her but Stephanie put her in her place very quickly she's top hen. For 4 days she had her best spot on he roost but then all of a sudden she is now on the lowest spot on the roost. I just hope that doesn't mean she is declining and they know that. Agh I am sure I am over thinking it. I just hate not being able to take care of her and put cream on the lacerations because they still weren't closed when I last saw her

Ok I'm rambling doing this on my phone. Haha thanks for asking tho, just needed to let it out because I don't have anyone to talk to about this that remotely understands

Be careful, chickens, for some reason when they know one is injured will constantly pick on it and peck them, sometimes until it kills them. When I was a kid my father had a young pullet that broke her leg, he put a splint on it and it healed, but she favored it and walked funny. The other chickens eventually killed her. I've saw it happen a few times. It sucked because she was my favorite chicken, because I could catch her fairly easy.

Well, Idk if anyone will see this but I just wanted to give a quick update.

When I left her that day to go back to the cities, I really didnt think she would make it. Her wounds were still completely open, draining and oozy, and caked with dirt because I couldnt keep her from taking dirt baths. She wasnt eating much still and incredibly thin. I gave her a hug and hoped for the best.

I saw her 10 days later and I was eager to check her out! So happy she pulled through and when I started to check everything out.... I honestly couldnt even find 2 of the large wounds... there was barely even a scar. I am just blown away how fast she healed. I ended up using manuka honey and soother plus RX cream on everything towards the end and thats it. It obviously works well!

Anyways, thanks everyone for all the help! I would have been lost without you. Although Stephanie still seems a little quiet and low on energy compared to before, shes definitely a fighter.

Oh, and the dog owner is helping me with part of the vet bill!
